All Cambodian clean-environment enthusiasts took pride in joining almost ten different nationalities to celebrate Earth Warriors Day (EWD) 2024, which serves as a great example of promoting global environmental awareness and inspiring solidarity for a better world.
Simply speaking, the event aims to raise environmental awareness by providing participants with impactful, first-hand experiences that highlight the importance of sustainability. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen bonds and foster collaboration among friends and family, creating a sense of community and shared purpose.
Inspired by this belief, the Golden Charity Organization (GCO), in collaboration with Factory Phnom Penh, Urban Village, PP Link Securities, and Urban Hub, successfully organized EWD 2024 for the first time in the kingdom. There were also plenty of supporting companies and sponsor partners.
On top of that, EWD 2024 was also simultaneously celebrated in thirteen countries, with the event in Cambodia held at Factory Phnom Penh. Besides, in Cambodia, there were also five primary schools celebrating the day at their respective locations, while Human Resource University and Asia Europe University joined on the spot, all under the initiative and management of GCO.
Thanks to the sincere participation of numerous individuals and entities, this Cambodia-labeled EWD 2024 collected nearly 5000 kilograms of raw trash.
“Undoubtedly, promoting environmental awareness and sustainability was the primary reason we committed to making this tremendous event happen from scratch,” said Golden Charity Organization Co-Founder Mr. Vic during the event opening. “We are thrilled with the turnout and the level of engagement from the students and community members.”
As this event underscores the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges, the EWD event in Cambodia was a resounding success, highlighting the country’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the global movement towards a sustainable future.
Additionally, Ms. Catherine Chan, Urban Village Phnom Penh & Factory Phnom Penh Executive Director and Founder, Mr. Chea Sothea, Chairman & Director of PP Link Securities, and Ms. Po Sreykong, Founder of New Smile of Hope Children Association, all gave respective welcome speeches at the event and shared common perspectives and motivation on how crucial environmental conservation is for individual well-being and natural sustainability, resting assured that today’s efforts would become a source of pride, hope, and inspiration.
The success of EWD 2024 in Cambodia is a testament to the power of community and collective action in promoting environmental sustainability. This achievement demonstrated a strong commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
